Nanny/Mother Helper needed from July 2021 in Sydney Northern Beaches

Updated: Jun 25

Melissa and Hans run a busy household and need a helping hand with their 2.5 years old twin girls for 4 days a week. They are an easygoing, fun and loving Australian - Swedish family who loves to spend time outdoors, going for bike rides, to the rock pool and watching family movies. They live in Sydney Northern Beaches, close to public transport, Narrabeen lake and the beach.

Melissa needs a second pair of hands with her twin girls 4 days during the week and occasionally during the weekend. She would be mostly at home especially at the beginning when you start in the role, but there may be times when you would be with the girls on your own for a couple of hours.

Ideally, you would have a disability/therapy support experience as one of the girls has development delay. This is not essential, if you are truly passionate about looking after children and you can see this role as an opportunity to expand your experience/skill set.

Ideally, you would be able to commit to stay with the family long term, 6 months or more.

About the family & the role

Melissa & Hans have 5 children, 3 older children are 20, 18 and 10 years old, however your daily responsibilities would relate to the twins only.

Your responsibility would be mainly to give Melissa a helping hand with the twins, who are very pleasant and happy girls. Your role will involve taking girls or one girl at a time to a playground, playing with girls at home, helping with physio / therapy at home. In time, you may take the girls to a playgroup and/or swimming lessons.

Part of your role would be to also proactively help with light household duties, e.g. when girls are asleep, such as unpacking dishwasher, folding laundry and general home duties.

Your work hours & responsibilities

You will work for approximately 25 hours per week. This can be spread out over 4 days during the week in the morning/early afternoon e.g. 9am to 3-4pm, but the family is flexible with regards to time/days and can accommodate a student's schedule for the right person. They might also require occasionally some extra hours during the weekend.

The family offers $28-30 hourly rate negotiable based on your work experience. You will need to have your ABN as you will be required to invoice the family for your work.

Key requirements for the role:

  • At least 21 years old

  • Experience in working with child with disability or having interest in

  • Responsible, proactive, mature and enthusiastic

  • Non smoker

  • Communicative English

  • WWCC

  • Your ABN

Drivers licence is not essential but it is a plus.
